Curriculum Rationale


St Thomas More Language College provides a broad and balanced curriculum suitable for students of all abilities.
Students' baseline data is assessed at the beginning of Year 7 to highlight individual strengths and weaknesses in literacy and numeracy and support is identified for EAL, SEN and Gifted & Talented groups. Extra timetable support is provided during Year 7 to ensure no child is left behind and that they are prepared for their Year 8 curriculum.
The data recorded in Years 7 and Year 8 assists the College in making provision to accommodate the needs of all students from Year 9 onwards. The range of our courses includes the traditional GCSEs, the E-Baccalaureate, OCR Nationals, Vocational courses and BTEC.
