GCSE Results for 2017, Progress 8 and performance tables link


The number of pupils achieving at least 5 A* to C including English and maths increased from last year to 64%, with 22% of exams taken graded at A or A*. Over a quarter of the students achieved an A or A* in Maths and over 90% achieved a C or better in English Language or Literature. 

In RE 82% of pupils achieved a C or better with 35% being awarded an A or A*. The students’ creative talent shone brightly in Art (35% A*-A, 81% A*-C) and Music (45% A*-A, 90% A*-C). Students also achieved outstanding results in ICT (35% A*-A), History (32% A*-A) and Spanish (36% A*-A). All students taking Biology and Physics were awarded a C or better, and 80% of Sports Science marks were graded A* to C.

Two students were awarded 8 grades at A*. Ankit Reddy and Jesse Kimani both achieved 10 A*-A grades. Ana Lamond and Carolina Viela were awarded 9 A*-A grades, with Danait Yallow receiving 8 A*-A. The students who made the most progress during their time at St Thomas More Language College were Carmen de Pedro Lizcano, Nick Enguerra, Melody Ienne, Robeyel Kidane and Noris Obijiaku.

14% of our students achieved the English Baccalaureate

STMLC achieved a Progress 8 score of +0.12 and an Attainment 8 score of 52.08.
